Semliki National Park

Semliki National park is located in the extreme west of Uganda in Bundibugyo. It lies along the Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) border within the western arm of the Rift valley. Semuliki National Park is an eastern extension of the vast Ituri Forest and forms part of the forest continuum during the climatic upheavals of the Pleistocene; this is one of the richest areas for both flora and fauna in Africa.

Tourist Attractions
Semiliki boosts a rich biodiversity of the in terms of birdlife including forest birds, wetland birds, grassland birds as well as water birds.

Semiliki Hot Springs
Semiliki contains two Spectacular Hot springs at Sempaya which are very famous attraction. This is dominated by a boiling geyser (1030 C) this area around the geothermal hot springs at Sempaya is not only very scenic but also offers some great birding most especially during nights.

Primates in Semiliki are also a key attractions, with almost 8 species recorded including; chimpanzee, colobus monkey, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, bush baby among others

Semiliki Accessibility
370km west of Kampala 6.5 hour drive, Semiliki is located in Bundibugyo district. From Kampala to Fort Portal via Mubende is about 180 Km as the shortest recommended route

From Fort Portal town,  2-3 hours drive on the rough road towards Bundibugyo will bring you to Sempaya Gate (52 Km)

By flight
Aerolink flies daily to Semliki departing Entebbe at 0745 & 1245 giving a comfortable access of the park especially to visitors that wish to save more time that is spent while travel on Road
